How do you use the web to grow your business offering - are you blogging?
A blog is a live web site, that is constantly changing as a result of the posts that people in your business put up there. Drawn from the term 'web log', it has become shortened to 'blog', and now acts as a dynamic side-addition to your website.
This has a number of advantages for you and your business.
Each blog post is seen by Google as a new web page, therefore Google sees your site as being updated regularly; this is a plus in Google's eyes. It also means that if people are following you regularly, their comments on your posts also bring up your ratings in the search engines as you become perceived as a site of value and genuine interest for people.
You can then also use the blogging platform to launch offers, competitions, drive campaigns and draw in more traffic.
The dynamism of allowing other people to re-post your posts onto their websites or blogs in a similar way to re-tweeting a twitter post then brings in more traffic, giving you publicity that you haven't had to pay for. Everyone wins all round really!
